Maria Mikola of Sarnia will represent Canada in the World
Championships in Spain.

Local
bodybuilder Maria Mikola will take on the world.
The 2002 Ontario Natural Bodybuilding Champion has been selected
as a member of Team Canada to represent her country at the
IFBB Women’s World Amateur Bodybuilding Championships
in Spain the week of Sept. 26-29.
She was thrilled when she learned the good news.
The 35-year-old personal trainer said she’s excited
about the opportunity to represent Canada in international
competition.
Born in Hamilton, she later moved to Sarnia and attended
SCITS.
During her youth she was active in gymnastics (among other
activities) but discovered bodybuilding in 1994 and has enjoyed
tremendous success there ever since winning seven championships
in her first 11 attempts.
The
All-Natural event tests for steroids and all the lifters
are ‘clean’ athletes.
